Ami's New Life

A tired sigh escaped the lips of the blue haired girl who sat down on the bench at the park. She was dressed in a schoolgirl outfit as she had just gotten off of school and instead of heading home with her friends had decided to take a detour and come here for a bit. The park was empty and quiet as it was just her all by herself.

Ami Mizuno slumped on the park bench and aimlessly looked up at the sky, a few clouds white clouds. She sat there looking up at them for a long moment. Aimlessly feeling around her bag she found and pulled out a blue brooch and looked on at it staring at it as she held it in front of her.

“I just wonder if it was possible for someone else to have been Sailor Mercury?” She mused to herself before putting it away.

Don’t get her wrong, Ami wouldn’t have traded the friendships she had obtained with The other Sailor Scouts and the bonds she had created with them for anything, but a part of her wondered how life would’ve been if she hadn’t been a Sailor Scout, her social life would still be intact for starters. As well as getting in eight hours of sleep at night before she had to wake up.

She was tired, although she kept up a front for the others, she wondered how things could’ve gone. Yes they had defeated foes and enemies who threatened people and had saved the world but when did it end? For every Youma they slew, it seemed as if more popup right in its place. They defeated The Dark Kingdom but then a new foe had appeared. For every plan they thwart, another just happens. She had died once, and had been brought back to life and recalled that incident in which she had. She was scared when that happened and realized that life was truly valuable because it could end just like that. Made her feel empathy for all those they had defeated before, knowing how they felt when their lives ended.

“I can only keep doing this for so long, I just wish I could take a break from this.” Ami said as she sat there

Although she had pride in her accomplishments and had saved lives, she wondered just how long would this keep up. What happens if she goes off to College? Would she have to put her plans and dreams on hold because of having to continue to fight monsters? Would she still be doing this as an adult and had a job? And continue to come up with excuses with what’s happening and why she can’t be there.

It might sound selfish, but she did have dreams of her own that she wanted to fulfill. But so long as she had to continue to be Sailor Mercury those would have to be on hold it seemed.

Another sigh escaped her lips as she sat there.

“When a person is sighing, that means they are upset.” A voice said catching her attention and Ami turned her head to look to her right and saw another person who was seated across from her on another bench with one of the chessboards in front of her that was setup at the park. “Is something the matter?” The figure said to her.

Ami looked on at her as the woman had snow white blue hair and was wearing a dress. She sat there in a relaxed state as she sat across from here. Ami did not realize that she had sat there as she hadn’t been paying any attention.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you.” Ami apologized to her and the figure turned to look at her a smile on her face.

“No problem.” She replied and looking on at her, Ami felt as if she was somewhat familiar but couldn’t place it. “You seem troubled, care to discuss your problems? It’s always good I’ve found to lend a ear to those who are troubled.” She offered to her

“You don’t have to do that.” Ami said to her.

“Alright then, if you insist.” Ami said and walked over and joined her seated across from her. “My names’ Ami, Ami Mizuno.” She said introducing herself

“You may call me Koori.” The white haired woman replied to her as they began their game.

“Is it some boy causing you trouble?” The white haired woman asked her as she made the first move.

“No, it’s not that. I’m single.” Ami replied as she positioned her own pawn on the board.

“A cute girl like you?” Koori said to her. “I’m shocked. So what is the problem? A girl like you shouldn‘t be worrying about any problems.” She said as she

“Well, me and my friends, we kinda get into stuff that most people wouldn’t understand, and I doubt you would either if I told you.” Ami said to her.

“Oh?” She replied as Koori made her move and took one of her pieces.

“Yeah, no one would believe us anyway, we’re kinda the only ones who can do that and sometimes its past midnight before I get back home.” Ami said to her as she contemplated her next move carefully before deciding on it.

“Something illegal? You being naughty and doing something you shouldn’t are we?” The white haired woman teased her with a smirk and Ami blushed a bit at her words.

“Nothing like that,” She said and took one of her pawns off the board. “Like I said, you’d think I was making all of it up if I told you.” She said to her.

“So what seems to be the problem then?” Koori asked a bit curious. “You’re spending time with your friends it sounds like to me.”

“It’s just that,” Ami said as she started to move her Bishop but hesitated. “I’m tired of it all that’s all. It just seems like every other day that something’s happening and I gotta drop what I’m doing and go with them and they have to as well once we hear what’s happening. I feel like at times this isn’t going to end and I maybe keep on doing this down the line

“Can’t you just quit? Tell them you don’t want to do this anymore?” Koori asked Ami as she made a move. “They aren’t really good friends if they force you to continue doing so if you don’t want to do it any longer.” She said putting the piece down cutting off her Bishop.

“What kind of person would I be if I did that?” Ami replied shaking her head as she picked up a Rook and examined it looking on at it “I know one of the others wanted to quit when we started but she’s kept on doing it and I feel I should as well. If I quit being a Sai-, uh the job that I do with my friends, I’d be a horrible person.” She said and sweated a bit as she just almost blabbed outloud of what it was she really did as they continued playing their game. Making moves and taking off pieces and putting them to the side as they continued talking.

“Well you gotta decide what you want to do with your life, not others.” Koori spoke up after a few more moves as she knocked over her Bishop with her Queen

“I suppose you’re right. But I just don’t know,” Ami said and blocked her Knight with her own to keep it away from her King.

“Checkmate.” The woman said with a smile. Ami looked on and realized that Koori had played and had cornered her King and had won the game with her Queen. She was a bit surprised that she had been defeated so suddenly as she had not been playing any attention to the game due to talking and discussing so much she hadn‘t noticed what was going on.

“Shoot, I lost.” She lamented shaking her head. “Oh well, it’s just a game.”

“Care for another match? Perhaps we can get to know one another better.” Koori said to her. “But then again I suppose we have seen each other quite a bit.” She mentioned to her.

“What do you mean?” Ami asked her a bit confused. “This is the first time I’ve met you.”

The woman giggled at her “You know me, and I know who you are as well Ami Mizuno, or should I say Sailor Mercury?” Koori said and smirked at her.

Ami looked on at her, her mind comprehending what she just said and called her and the woman suddenly began to glow as snow emitted from her.

The woman’s dress disappeared and she was revealed to be wearing a blue one piece outfit and wore matching gloves and long boots as well over her arms and legs. Her hair style became different as it became a long braid that went down over the right side of her.

The symbol of The Black Moon Clan appeared on her face as well, just above her eyes as she revealed her true self.

“Berthier?!” Ami said in shock upon seeing her not knowing that this whole time she had been playing and having a conversation with an enemy. “What are you doing here?” She said defensively as she looked on at her

“Heh, this your idea of a friendly conversation?” Berthier asked her with a smile

Ami stood up on the defensive, ready to transform and fight. She almost expected for a monster to appear and attack her just now. But Berthier it seemed was in a relaxed state as she sat there not doing anything.

“I’ve had my eye on you, wondering after watching you for some time if you was in fact that Scout who’s been running around and now I see that I am correct.” Berthier said and Ami know that she was in danger, due to knowing her real identity she could target her and the others and those at school and places she went as well.

“I won’t you hurt my friends or the others.” Ami vowed to her and Berthier snickered a bit in amusement.

“I’m not interested in your friends or those other Sailor Scouts, I’m interested in you.” She told Ami as they looked on at one another

“What do you mean?” Ami asked not understanding and Berthier disappeared teleporting right behind her making Ami gasp as she was defenseless right now with her back to her and did not have the reflexes to try and dodge. She couldn’t defend or resist any attacks she tried.

“I’m not here to fight, I’m here to take away what’s been troubling you Ami.” Berthier said surprising her a bit.

“W-What are you saying?” Ami asked turning her head to look at her doing her best not to show any fear towards the white haired figure who was smiling at her

“I’ve noticed when we’ve fought recently before you seem weary and tired and you caught my interest. You’re tired, you’re weary with all that has happened ever since you became Sailor Mercury. You need rest, and I’m going to help you do just that. Make it so you don’t have to ever be a Sailor Scout anymore.” She told her. “Your ‘friends’ won’t understand but I do, I can be more of a friend to you than they could ever be.” She told her a mischievous smile on her face as she whispered into her ear.

“My friends would-”

“Shh, forget about them.” Berthier told her. “They aren’t really your friends if they are forcing you to keep being a Sailor Scout are they? You told me yourself that one of them is always whining and wanting to quit so why shouldn’t you be allowed to quit either? Forget about being a Sailor Scout, forget about them. Just let me help you enjoy life.”

Ami went to run away by Berthier wrapped her arms around her waist preventing her from moving as her grip was deceivingly strong. Her hear was pounding inside her chest at what was happening just now as she felt her skin against her own and her chest against her back.

“I’ll take away all your problems and worries sweetie,” Berthier told her cupping her face and turning her head so that looked at her and they were eye to eye. “You won’t have to worry about being a silly Scout anymore. I’m going to remove all your problems and make them go far, far away.” She said and playfully blew a bit of ice into Ami’s ear making her shiver as she then felt her lips against the shell of her ear. “I’ll take good care of you from this day forward.” The member of The Black Moon Clan told her nuzzling against her neck burying her nose against it.

Ami held by her was silent as she heard Berthier’s words. “I-” She started to say but was cut off when something began to glow

The Chess Board glowed and Ami saw The Queen piece that Berthier had increase in size and appear before her. She found herself staring at it as Berthier hugged her from behind putting her chin on her shoulder.

Ami looked on at and the game piece’s eyes glowed suddenly and Ami gasped as she stared into them and felt something coming over her. Her posture became relaxed and her body slouched over as her muscles loosened up and she fell backwards leaning against Berthier who held her. Ami looked on at her and a smile found its way on her face.

“So have you made your decision? Do you want to give up being a Sailor Scout and be with me from here on out?” Berthier asked her.

“Yes.” Ami replied to her having fallen and become hypnotized.

Berthier turned her around so that they were staring at one another’s eyes and leaned forward as she kissed her on the lips. Ami gasped at her boldness but closed her eyes as she returned it as Berthier held her in her arms.

Berthier pulled away and blew mist at her face playfully. A little incentive she had used with the chess piece to make sure Sailor Mercury wanted to be with her. Yes, the snow haired woman thought with a grin, the two would enjoy each other’s company from here on out.

She felt and reached over her body and found The Brooch and transformation pen which would turn Ami into Sailor Mercury and removed it and slipped it into her outfit. Those won’t be needed anymore. But on the occasion she felt like dressing her up in the Fuku outfit they might come in handy.

She wrapped her arms around Ami in a warm seemingly loving embrace who returned it. “You’re going to be so happy with me won’t you?” She said to her as they stared into each other‘s eyes. “I’ll take away all your problems and worries.” Berthier told her and Ami did not pull away from her hug.

“Yes.” Ami replied to her with a smile at her.

“Now my dear Sailor Mercury.” Berthier said to her with a smile cupping her face as she leaned in and began playfully kissing her cheek as Ami leaned into her touches and caresses. “You’re all mine.” She said pecking her softly on the lips and let out a laugh as the two became crystallized in ice before disappearing from the park.

Sometime later Berthier and Ami are shown in Berthier’s private home that she had that was made of ice. The two were in her private chambers and on a sofa as they were seen on it.

Ami, now wearing a similar outfit that Berithier wore having been removed of her school clothes and dressed in it laid on the sofa resting her head on her lap. Berthier smiled as she looked on at her as she stroked her head and Ami let out a sigh, not one of tiredness or depression like before, but of bliss as she laid with her. Perfectly content with what had happened

Berthier looking on leaned down and kissed her forehead gently and Ami giggled at the contact of her lips on her skin as she opened her eyes to look up at her with a loving look and The ice wielder smiled at her as they looked at one another.

“Do you enjoy your new life Ami with me?” She asked her and she nodded her head.

“Yes Berthier, I am so happy being here with you like this.” Ami replied to her as she wanted to stay with her forever as she had no desire of going back to her old life. Her brooch and pen were on a desk nearby encased, a memento of her past life that she’d have kept.

“You don’t ever want to be a Sailor Scout and go back to that life ever again do you?” Berthier said to her as she planted soft kisses on her cheeks.

“No, just being with you is all I want.”

“Good girl.” Berthier said and kissed her on the lips as she held Ami in her arms as they laid there the two happy with one another over their new future together.
