Ami's Own Secret

“How could I have been so stupid, so naïve!”

Ami was kicking herself hard mentally as she looked on at her surroundings, she was in a room that was an ice color that was aligned with furniture and other items on it. She had been taken here as she had been captured by the person who she had thought this whole time was her friend, Berthier.

“She played me for a fool this whole time! I’m such an idiot!” The blue haired girl stated not believing that she had been duped by her. All this time, she was just using her it seemed.

She had not been harmed or tortured since coming here, in what she guessed was Berthier’s private chambers she had.

She was angry at what had happened, at Berthier for misleading her and at herself for buying into it this whole time. “I really blew it this time.” She said bitterly as she sat on the bed in the room. “Now I know how Serena feels like.”

Although there was a door, she couldn’t get out as it seemed to be sealed that prevented her from escaping this place. She thought of Berthier and again of what had happened of how she had transformed back there revealing her true self shedding the Bertie disguise. “I was nothing more than an Unwitting Pawn back there.

Reaching into her pocket shirt she slowly pulled out the transformation pen she had. “I could use this and transform and become Sailor Mercury and possibly get out of here, but I don’t know where I’m at or how many are here? I could go right into the lions’ den if I do.” She said as transforming was too risky right now. She needed a better grip of the situation she was in. “I’m just glad they don’t realize who I really am.” She said as that was the one thing she could be happy about. If it was found out who she really was, she’d likely be dead.

“For once, a plan of ours is a success.” Esmeraude stated the green haired woman looking on. “We gathered much energy this day, our Prince is most pleased.”

“But the machine was destroyed.” Koan, the leader of the four sisters protested.

“Another can easily be made.”

Berthier looked on as she met with the others in the room discussing what had happened.

“There is another item to discuss, Berthier.” The Self Proclaimed Mistress of Prince Demande said and turned her head to look at her. “Why did you bring that girl with you?”

“Yeah, why did you?” Petz asked her. “We could’ve handled them all together if you was there with us.” She said and Berthier was about to say something when she was interrupted

“It doesn’t matter why she did. We can use that girl, turn her into a Droid and use her against those annoying Brats.” Rubeus said. “They’ll never know they’ve actually destroyed a human in disguise.”

“No you won’t!” Berthier protested surprising her sisters that she would dare to speak against him. “She’s not going to be harmed by you.” She told him.

“You dare to go against your superior?” He snarled at her. “This new attitude of yours I am getting tired of.” He said but Berthier didn’t back down from him equally returning the glare. “That girl you kidnapped is nothing more than a waste.”

“Perhaps not.” Esmeraude said with a smile holding her fan. “We offer a trade to those Sailor Nitwits, the girl in exchange for Rini.”

Rubeus eyes lit up a knowing look in them. “Yes, that is a good idea my Lady. We force them to give up the little brat, these Hero types wouldn’t dare standby and let another be captive in their place and if they don’t we’ll just kill the girl. I’ll go and make the arrangements.” He said and teleported away.

Berthier looking on went to go but was called back and looked and saw her sister.

“Sister, you’re on thin ice right now.” Koan said but in an advising tone. “His majesty and the others are most displeased with you as of late. Be careful, please.” She said and put a hand on her shoulder. “We all need to work together if we want to have our new home.”

“I know.” Berthier responded to her.

“Berthier, I don’t know what your interest in that girl is but you can’t let it bother you anymore, she is of no use to us. You should’ve just left her there. This is causing our plans to be hindered.”

“So you too are thinking I’m just worthless?” Berthier asked her a hurt look in her eyes. “Maybe I should just leave then.”

“No, never.” Koan said to her hugging her. “I may have my duty but you’re my sister first and foremost same with Petz and Calaveras.” She said and pulled away.

“I don’t know what’s going on with me, I just want this to end.” Berthier told her.

“It will, just wait I promise.”

Later on Ami sat on the floor of the room by herself trying to think up a plan

Ami looked on as Berthier entered the room. She had a plate and on it was a sandwich. “Here, eat.” She told Ami.

“I’m not hungry.” Ami said turning her head away but her stomach objected loudly, pulling a Serena on her and pink powder covered her cheeks.

“It’s not poison.” Berthier said and broke a piece off and swallowed it showing she was telling the truth.

Ami snatched the sandwich away and bit down and ate it.

“You’re going to head back to Earth tomorrow.” Berthier informed her after she finished surprising Ami. “In exchange for you, we get something we want from The Sailor Scouts.” She told Ami who looked on.

(Rini) She thought to herself.

“From what I heard of The Sailor Scouts, they won’t give into people like you.” Ami said to her.

Berthier looked on at her. “If they don’t, you’re going to die.” She warned her and that took the wind out of Ami’s sails at hearing that. “And I’d rather that didn’t happen.” She said to herself so she didn‘t hear.

Berthier looked on as the glare on Ami’s face seemed permanent. “Are you really that angry at me?”

“You tricked me…” Ami accused her. “You made me think you was my friend, that you were a nice person I could get along with, now I see who you really are.” She told Berthier who bit her bottom lip.

“I am a nice person.” She told Ami. “I’m just doing what I have to do, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I do care for you. What do I have to do to prove that?”

Ami didn’t say anything to Berthier as she looked on. “I see.” Berthier said to her. “You like chess as much as I do, but you wasn’t some pawn that I used, all this stuff that happened, I didn’t expect all this stuff to happen.” She told her as this was not part of her plan. She didn’t plan on revealing herself and having to forcefully take Ami here.

“The bed you can sleep on, you’ll be going back to Earth around the afternoon.” She said and stood up and walked out of the room the doors closing behind her.

Ami sat there on the floor and brought her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around them as she sat there.

The next day…

“I’m telling you its Ami, they gotta have gotten her, that’s the only way she didn’t show up yesterday.” Rei said as the Scouts were at the arranged site. Rubeus had showed up and informed them and told them of the deal and The Scouts had no choice but to accept it.

“Let’s just hope if it is they haven’t found out who she is as well as our identities also.” Sailor Venus mused as they waited. They had come to this arranged spot to do the trade. They were reluctant to do so, but they couldn’t let an innocent life be taken and do nothing. When Ami hadn’t shown up yesterday they were concerned with what had happened and checked all the spots she usual was at which made their suspicions when Rubeus had showed up clear.

She had been kidnapped by them and they were holding her ransom.

“Someone’s coming.” Lita said as she sensed something happening.

Rubeus, Berthier and Ami appeared via teleporting and Ami had ropes tied around her arms.

“I knew it.” Rei said gritting her teeth as they had captured Ami like she had thought.

“Give me the brat, and this girl will live.” Rubeus ordered them.

“Release her first!” Sailor Moon called out.

“You are not in the position to bargain.” Rubeus said to them

The group gritted their teeth in anger not liking the situation but Lita looked on and saw Ami’s eyes meeting them. “Scouts, do it.” She whispered to them.

“What?” Rei said not liking what she heard.

“Trust me, she’s got a plan. I can tell just by looking at her.” She told them. “She knows what she’s doing.

“Hand her over to me now!” Rubeus said losing his patience.

“Alright, we’ll do it at the same time.” Sailor Moon called out. “C’mon Rini, let’s go.” She told her daughter from the future who frowned and pouted not liking the situation.

“Berthier you do the exchange.” Rubeus ordered her who nodded her head. “You both will stop five feet from the other, once we have her, this worthless girl is allowed to go free. No tricks you hear?” He called out to them.

“C’mon.” She said and lightly shoved Ami making her go forward. Ami moved ahead as they closed the distance between them. “I didn’t mean for this, I didn’t want any of this to happen.” She told Ami in a whisper. “I did want to be your friend.”

“How do I know that that isn’t another lie?” Ami said not looking back at her and Berthier winced at her words. If she had noticed and paid attention, she would’ve noticed that Ami’s hands were moving against the ropes and undoing them slowly but surely. (Just a little more)

The two exchangers stopped reaching the distance and looked on.

“Go on,” Serena said to Rini who nodded her head and got within touching distance of her.

“Now!” Ami shouted and her free hands no longer tied elbowed Berthier in the ribs knocking the wind out of her. “Run!” She shouted as she, Serena and Rini who ran back to the others.

“What?!” Rubeus shouted as they had been tricked.

“Ami are you okay?!” Sailor Jupiter asked as she made it back to them.

“Yeah, thanks for worrying about me.”

“That’s what friends are for.” Mina told her. “Now make with the transformation girl!”

“Right!” Ami exclaimed and pulled out her transformation pen.

“Mercury Power Makeup!” Ami shouted and her clothes disappeared and was replaced with a white outfit and blue skirt with a tiara and long gloves and heels as she transformed into Sailor Mercury joining the others.

“W-What?!” Berthier shouted disbelief in her eyes. “She’s…She’s Sailor Mercury?!” She said not believing that the girl that she had associated with and had become friends with was none other than one of her enemies.

“Berthier you fool!” Rubeus shouted at her. “She’s one of them this whole time and you didn’t know?!” He said to her. In fury he conjured up an energy ball and threw it at The Scouts who dodged the attack.

“Mars Flame Sniper!” Rei shouted firing an arrow which Berthier blocked with Ice and she threw a pillar at them which she avoided. She summoned shards of Ice and attacked with them but her attack was stopped by Venus who used her Love Me Chain to destroy them.

Rubeus fired several attacks trying to get them. “Berthier surround this place with Ice, don’t let them escape!”

Berthier went to do so when her attack was interrupted as bubbles appeared stopping her as they blocked her path and she looked on and saw Ami before her

“You wasn’t the only one hiding secrets.” Ami told her looking on at her as she had on her computer visor.

“I guess I wasn’t.” The white haired girl said as the two looked on at each other, two friends who were unaware that they were mortal enemies this whole time.

Berthier went to attack her but she suddenly stopped what she was doing, her body going against her as she stopped producing Ice as if she couldn‘t bring herself to do it.

“Mercury Tidal Wave!” Sailor Mercury shouted seizing the moment and sent a deluge right at her, Berthier tried to stop it but her attack was too powerful.

The blow hit her and she was knocked away by the wave of water.

Rubeus chased after the pink haired girl who ran from him and was upon her and went to grab Rini but he was hit with dual attacks by Venus and Jupiter ensnaring him in it preventing him from moving.

“Your history!” Sailor Moon shouted and she held out her staff and charged her attack. “Repent and beg forgiveness for your evil ways in the afterlife you villain!” She shouted as she threw the crescent moon like attack at him.

The attack hit him full force and he cried out in pain as he was evaporated by it and Crimson Rubeus was no more his life coming to an end.

“Now it’s your turn!” Sailor Moon said and prepared another attack to eliminate Berthier. Sailor Mercury however grabbed her by the hand preventing her from doing so and shook her head. “What? What are you doing?” She asked her not understanding.

“It’s over, just let her go.”

“Are you serious?” Sailor Venus asked her.

Berthier took that opportunity to flee as she left, disappearing from the place.

“Ami, what gives? We could’ve eliminated two of those Black Moon Creeps just now.” Sailor Mars asked her as they didn’t understand why she did that.

“I’ll deal with her myself when the time comes.” Ami told them surprising them.

“Ami?” Lita asked her as this new change of character was most unlike her.

“I’m glad to see you all. I‘ll be more careful from here on out on who I should and shouldn‘t trust. I know none of you will ever pretend to be my friend.” She said and began to turn and head back.

Ami turned and walked away from them the group who looked on not understanding what had gotten into here.

Sailor Mercury continued to walk on away from the others. Happy that her back was to them so they couldn’t see what was happening.

That way they could not see the tear that was going down her face.

Back in her dimension, Berthier having made it back after escaping looked on as she sat on her bed all by herself in the room her facial features covered up by her hand.

Sniffling she wiped it and removed her hand revealing her face.

On her own face, there was also a tear going down it.
